About Me

My name is John Young. I’ve been a soldier, reporter, police officer, and intelligence officer.   My experience has provided me with the knowledge and inspiration to write three novels, all thrillers about terrorism and its links to crime and war.  After serving in Vietnam with the U.S. Army, I graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in journalism and worked as a reporter at The Arizona Daily Star.  I later worked as a writer for the U.S. Information Agency and the Voice of America in Washington, D.C., covering foreign affairs.  After the 9/11 attacks, I joined the FBI as a counter-terrorism analyst and later moved to the Defense Intelligence Agency as an Operations Officer.  I served two tours in Iraq with the Joint Special Operations Command.  After Iraq, I was an instructor for U.S. Army Intelligence.
